InstaFriday

We tried out some spikes this weekend.  When we left the house he asked if I had brought the gel with us - just in case his spikes went down.

The girls spent the weekend with my parents (yay for meme and pops!) and we met them halfway for the drop off - at the Varsity in downtown ATL.  I had a chili cheese burger, fries and an orange frosted.  It was every bit as delicious as I remembered it being.

We spent the afternoon at home, then fed Quinn dinner and went out to run some errands.  Since Chris and I hadn't eaten yet, we decided to go by the Grit in Athens.  And since Q already had dinner, he got a fabulous slice of cake.

I had this plate of deliciousness - broccoli with lemon dijon butter, collard greens, mac and cheese.  I would take this over cake any day of the week.  ;)

One of my favorites - a necklace by my sweet friend, Crystal B

Quinn had a hard time deciding on a costume.  It was between this, the hot dog and the banana.  He decided Superman was the easiest to walk in.

This was a much deserved Sunday afternoon snack.

Chris made an amazing chicken pot pie for dinner (pioneer woman style!).

Happy Mail!  I have been desperate for a #5 sign and searched for one all summer long (remember all the antiquing that we did??  this was on my list.every.single.time. and couldn't find one) But I got this one from Sparrow Mercantile on etsy (and a fair price too!)

I really love it when kids complete these sorts of things.  This one is Chan's...I love the favorite foods, sports and things to do at home...too funny, that kid!

Casey on her way to dance class - yoga pants and boots...big sigh.

Notes like these from students kind of make my week!

More happy mail!  I was completely on a roll this week!  Some early Christmas shopping done and a note from sweet church friends letting us know that they were lifting our family up in prayer this week.

Score!  Chris came home with these two this week.  I almost cried last weekend when our Publix was sold out of them.  I love them toasted and topped with pumpkin spice cream cheese.

Whew!  So this actually posted on Friday...only half way finished.  How that got away from me I'll never know!  :) {I'm @ang4332 on instagram!}

Instagram Friday

I love old cemeteries and finally made time to take the girls to Woodbine in downtown Jefferson.  A historical treasure chest!  We have plans to go back before it gets cold.

Wow!  That's a big sweaty face!  This was Saturday morning when I ran (actually ran) for a full twelve minute mile.  I repeat, I ran the whole entire time.  And then I walked a mile.  And then I ate funnel cake at the carnival.

Kids playing in the corn box at the corn maze.  Kind of yuck, if you ask me.  :)

Corn mazin' it!

And then, just when our kids thought the day couldn't get any better...  Yep, dinner at the mall carnival!

The tilt-a-whirl is my all time favorite ride.  Seriously.  I rode with the girls first and taught them how to pull on the handle and lean - makes you spin faster.  Oh, how my cousin Beth and I loved this ride!

Sunday morning 3.2 miles and I (finally) hit my 50 mile goal.  Now I just need to find time to go to Athens Running Co to pick up some new shoes.  Yep, 50 miles = Mama gets new shoes!

Peridot earrings made for a sweet friend!

My sassy rain boot girl!

Quinn and I spent some time spelling words with his letter stickers...and then we stickered up our faces.  Fun with spelling.  That's my motto.

I was working the other night and kept catching myself looking up at this - silhouette  of Chan, love block from bubblewrappd, postcard from Pam Garrison, lovely fabric, lime walls...it certainly makes working a little more fun.

While I was working hard, Q was also working hard.  Cut and paste, Baby, cut and paste.

Bikey (as Quinn calls him) was definitely NOT working hard.  Just sayin.

dinner: cracked pepper chicken, sauteed brussell sprouts in lemon, sauteed spinach and mushrooms, and a BIG salad!

Yay!  FINALLY...a smiley face day!  They seem hard to come by any more.

My favorite plate (I wish I had bought ten of them) with my favorite pizza (spinach white pizza).

Quinn was a hot mess when I picked him up from school.  I swear he must eat the dirt on the playground.  This is the front view...

This is the back...

Yep.  That's a missing chunk of hair.  There are 10 chops like that all over his head...courtesy of another 4 year old.

Want to follow me?  I'd love to have you!  @ang4332

My First Instagram Friday

So I have been on Instagram for a year now.  And in that year I took six pictures.  Seriously.  Six.

But my Blue Ridge friends are all IG junkies and I want to be like them, so, well, I got started with it this weekend.  And I love it.  I feel like we are all together all the time...in a not weird way.  If that can happen... in a not weird way.

So, here's my week according to instagram... {I'm @ang4332 in case you want follow me!}

First things first...an actual profile pic...

A quick stop into Avid Bookstore over the weekend in Athens.  I love this poster.  I think every parent of small children should have one hanging in their house as a reminder...
**Hey!  And I found where you can get one of these!   Redbubble

Speaking of raising passionate readers...this is bedtime...Quinn is on a Little Critter kick these days and I must say, I am quite enjoying it.

Pick up after school...Quinn always cries because he wants to stay and play.  Kind of embarrassing when your kid is yelling, "But I don't want to go home!!!" But, we would take that any day over it being the other way around - not wanting to go to school...

Casey's sketchbook drawing over the weekend.  It's a twirl tree.  I'm kind of digging it - especially the squirrel in the tree.

LOTS of happy mail going out this week!  Yay!

Tuesday night I lucked out with a girls' night...and I used this super cute new clutch from my sweet friend, Alison at Little Green Thread

Dinner date with these two?  Yes, please!  Molly and I have been friends since we were 15 and Jules was Molly's roommate freshman year in college and well, we've all been friends ever since...

Wednesday night Chris takes Casey to dance on Wednesday nights which leaves me in charge of the other two.  We made a quick stop to Avid for some new book picks and the kids spent some time in the book balloon...

I bought this book! It has been on my reading list for some time now and I am ready to start it! Yay!

My favorite dance night dinner...a veggie sub at Subway...because the Subway is next to the dance studio...

And here's my favorite dance night date...

Yay for instagram!  I am officially hooked! life rearranged
