I May Have Ruined World Market For Chris.

I may have ruined World Market for Chris.  I say this because on the way home from the World Market he said to me, "You may have just ruined World Market for me."

I hate it when that happens.

Ok, maybe not really, but I felt like I should say that.

This is what today held for us....
1.  Chris taught summer school.
2.  Q went to Mrs. Spry's.  He was missing his friends.  And I was missing my sanity.
3.  The girls and I cleaned house and did some laundry.
4.  I drank multiple cups of coffee.
5.  Chris came home.
6.  We ate lunch.
7.  Went to the bank and post office.
8.  We decided to go back to the furniture store to look without Quinn and his bad attitude.
9.  I also wanted to stop by Pier 1.
10.  Chris wanted to go to World Market.

And so, off we went.

I wanted to buy a new chair (one that I had previously picked out at Pier 1 and saved my pennies for) for my craft table.  You know, because I'm still using my chair from 8th grade.  Not when I taught 8th grade but from when I was in 8th grade.  Big difference.  Its almost (gasp!) 20 years old.  Omg, I can't think about that!

But they didn't have either of the chairs that I wanted.  (insert sad face)

So, I sucked it up and went to World Market to make Chris happy.  He wanted to look at the beer and wine.  And can you blame him?  I have taken him to many, many stores in the past three days.  At least he wasn't wanting to drink the alcohol in the middle of the Tuesday afternoon....just look at it.

Anyway, we went.  I ooohhhed and aaaahhhed and imagined all sorts of fun things coming into our house.

And then I found this beauty.....

Its their logan geometric gold chair.  We bought two of them.  They were on SUPER sale!!!  And look, even Ike approves (he's wearing his collar and a harness...safety purposes).
I was still down in the dumps about Pier 1 not having my chair.  So then I thought maybe I should just get a kitchen table chair with a fun cushion (on super sale!).  And I came very close to making that decision.  It was the cheap in me making that decision though and I am trying to work on that.  Sometimes you need to make a decision based on things other than, "It was cheap."  And I was really, really in love with this chair.  It was the last one (and $100 off) but it wouldn't match my orange and gray craft room.  So as we sat there, my magnificent husband said, "If I paint the room would you get that chair?"

Oh, how I love that man.

So he's painting the room to match my new chair.  I think you'll agree though, it will be worth it.

Pie.

We spent the day like this...
1.  church
2.  I made scrambled eggs for lunch while Chris helped with inventory at church.
3.  Chris came home.
4.  folded some laundry, loaded the dishwasher
5.  looked at furniture at American Signature Furniture
6.  Quinn had to leave the store due to a serious behavior problem.  Chris, by default, had to go with him.
7.  We tried Mall of Georgia.  Quinn said no thank you.
8.  Publix on the way home.  There is a reason why we make a menu and a grocery list.  We are normally very deliberate in our grocery shopping.  And we weren't tonight.  Which is why I am now bringing a white chocolate pudding pie with sliced strawberries, a watergate salad and a banana cream pie to my mother's tomorrow.  I found that I couldn't leave the backing aisle until I narrowed my selection down to 3 items as opposed to the 15 that I originally wanted to make.

I will be topping this with cool whip in just a little while.  And trying a slice before bringing it to my mom's tomorrow.

Best Braid Ever...and some other things

One thing I love about having daughters is braiding hair.  I don't know what I would do if both of them decided to chop off their hair at the same time.  I taught myself how to french braid when I was in elementary school but really mastered my skills when I was a teenager and my aunt owned a beauty shop.  She had fake heads.  I practiced on them for hours...french braids, fishbone braids, 4, 5 and 6 strand braids....

But Casey's braid today may have been one of the best braids I've ever done.  Seriously.

We cleaned Chan's stitches today.  ***So scroll past the following pictures if stitches gross you out.**  Although they are very small.  And when I say "we" I totally mean Chris.  It looks good.  She goes back next weekend to have them taken out.  And really, the white bandage makes it seems like the wound is some 6 inch, gaping open kind of thing.  Its not.  1/2 inch at best.  But she feels cool in it and Casey is jealous, so the white bandage is kind of important.

Multiple times she has mentioned that she would like to have a Harry Potter scar on her hand.  I'm thinking about telling her it looks like Harry's scar whether it actually does or not.
Today was actually a pretty great day.  We looked at living room furniture (it might be time to replace the 15 year old couches that are hand me downs from my parents).  We stopped by an antique store that we've been passing for 3 years now (we will be continuing to pass it from now on).  We went to Old Navy, Target, Michael's, Loft, Home Goods, Kohl's, Macy's and the Gap.  Whew!  It was a lot.  But fun for me because I would have felt such guilt going without everyone.  It was not fun for Chris because it was shopping...with kids...on a Saturday.  Such is life.

Last Day of School...

...for me.  Today is it.  Why am I blogging when I should be there?  Well, we worked late yesterday (in a good way) and had the option of leaving early today or coming in later and well, it stormed last night and was still storming when I should have been getting up.  Who really EVER wants to get up when its storming?  And I had the option of going in late.  So, there's that.  And now I'm up and everyone else in my house is still asleep.  Which, to me, is like the most magical time ever.  So, I'm sitting on the couch in my craft room, drinking a cup of coffee, imagining and planning all the projects that I can't wait to get started on...tomorrow.  My first actual day of summer.

Just wait until you see some of the things that I am planning for the shop.  Can. Not. Wait.

Chris and I are planning an antiquing date.  Sans kids.  Hooray!

And perhaps a little anniversary weekend.  Five years.  I really can't even believe it.  I don't know where the time has gone.  Crazy.

But mostly, I want to feel some amount of control over this house and my life.  Use this time to regroup.  To calm down and relax.

That's my plan, anyway.  Let's see if it really happens.

Chandler, Part II

{Chandler, Fall 2010 by Stylized Portraiture}

Remember this child?  Chan?  I just talked about her last night?

Well, we've had quite the day.

You know, Chris has had the girls in his classroom before and after school for 3 years now.  Today was the first day that they have gone to school with me and we ended up with 2 shots and 3 stitches.

I had the girls peeling labels for me and Chan bites her nails, so I gave her a label peeler.  I sat with her on the floor, demonstrated how to use it, walked her through it and watched her do several of them on her own before leaving her to it.  And then she sliced the palm of her hand.  It bled.  I took her to the school nurse.  Nurse Tammy was fabulous, doctored her up, encouraged her to milk the injury for all it was worth and then told me that we might need to have it looked at.

Chan was fine for the rest of the day.

We came home.  Chris took one look at it and said we should take her.  So, Chan and I went to the immediate care (we LOVE the people at the immediate care!).

Things were going well until the doctor announced that Chan did indeed need stitches.  And a shot to numb her hand first.  Then she lost it.  Like, really lost it.  The doctor, a really wonderful man, told Chan, very calmly and seriously, that she was allowed to scream as loud as she needed to, cry as much as she wanted to, call him many bad names, but she could NOT move her hand.

And so Chan buried her head in my chest, screamed like she was on Space Mountain and told me to "Hold her close and protect her from....that....that guy!!!!!"  That was the best bad name that she could come up with.  That guy!  But, she was quite the champ because she did not move a muscle during the whole thing.

When it was all said and done, after the doctor came back in with the paperwork and follow up care directions, Chandler said to the nurse, "Tell that guy thank you from me, and, you know, that guy is my favorite."

We finished up the night with burgers, onion rings and blizzards from Dairy Queen.

What I Wore Wednesday, Week 11

Linking up with Lindsey for another week!

Is it just about summer?  Check.
Skirts and flip flops?  Check.

white t-shirt - Old Navy
powder blue skirt - eddie bauer outlet (a couple of years ago)
flip flops - jcrew outlet

That necklace?  It was the first non-beads-on-a-string necklace that I ever made.  I was SUPER excited about it.  It took me 3 hours to make it.  Yep.  That's right, 3 hours.  And I thought to myself, "Ugh.  I'll never be able to make another one."  And then I went out to dinner that night with friends, wore it, and sold 3 more.  I quickly became proficient at them and can whip one up in about 45 minutes.  I'm indecisive about bead choices and placement.  Its a flaw, I think.

white shirt - banana republic outlet
belt - target
skirt - target (new!)
sandals - bass

shorts - Old Navy (new!)
shirt - old navy
perfect tank - banana republic outlet
earrings - Raw Copper Hoops - my shop!
And I had on a super cute pair of flip flops from target, but, alas, I cut them out in the picture.  I hate it when that happens.  Sheesh.

Chandler

{Chandler, Fall 2010... taken by Stylized Portraiture}

This is my beautiful, smart, funny, talented, kind and generous daughter, Chandler.  She recently won the Principal's Award for her class (I may have told you that).  So I know that she knows how to be good.  And how to keep her mouth shut.

We are day 4 into summer vacation for the kids and she may not live through the summer at the rate she's going.

Example #1
Quinn was playing a game on my phone.  Chandler wanted to play, so she tried to yank the phone away from Q.  He wouldn't let go.  So then there was a 9 year old and a 3 year old playing tug-o-war with my iphone.
Me:  Chandler.  You're 9 and he's 3.  Which one do you think should know better in this situation?
Chan:  Um, yeah....he's not 3 yet.

And then I threatened to hit her.  Chris stepped in and sent her to her room.

Example #2
I took Casey to dance class tonight.  When we got home, Chris had dinner ready and we all sat down to eat.  Chris and I began talking about how there is this constant hum in our house.
Chris:  I almost had to enforce a Quiet Rule while you were gone.  (looks at Chan)
Chan:  Whaaaaaaattttt????  Isn't this a free country?

Chris and I both stop eating and she continues talking...digging the hole deeper and deeper.  Until she finally stops...

Chan:  Maybe I should just stop talking now.
Me:  Really?  Ya think?
Chan:  Um, yeah, yeah I do.
***************************
Please pray for us.  And this child.

Call Me Crazy...

...but I think these flowers might be dead.

For sure I think this one is.

Its not all brown and crunchy yet though, so I just keep watering it.  I really don't know what happened.
And then when you round the corner to the side of the house, you see my crowning glory.

Some other random things that happened in my day...
1.  I ate a salad at Chick-fil-a for lunch and that made me happy.
2.  We gave up cable some time ago and Chris recently bought a Roku device (no, I don't really know anything about it, but I am going to talk like I do).  We can listen to Pandora on it and I typed in the Paul Simon station tonight during dinner making and right off the bat it played my favorite Paul Simon song, Late in the Evening...followed by a billion other songs that I love.  And with each song I said, "Ooooohhhh, I love this song!"  The good people at Pandora really do seem to know what they are doing.
3.  I'll be posting these super cute new retro cab earrings in the shop later tonight.

Found Pictures and Another Saturday

I say "found" because I plugged in Chris's phone and POOF! there they were!  Its our ice cream night from a few weeks ago...when the ice cream truck rolled through the neighborhood and I spent $10 for 4 ice creams and we sat in the backyard together.  It was a good night.  And here are the pictures to prove it....

And then there was this picture that Chris took of Chan as they were leaving this morning.  She is very chipper before 7am when they were leaving for the race.  She and Chris ran a 5K together this morning.  It was her first race.  Ever.  She finished in 31:50 and placed 5th.  Not too shabby, if you ask me.

Quinn snuggled me up this afternoon.  I think it had something to do with his iphone gaming addiction.  Trying to butter me up.  And really, it works, so why not???

School's Out For Summer

Today was mine and Chris's last day of school with kids.  (He has 3 days of post planning next week, I have the whole week.)  Today was the girls' last day of 3rd grade.

Yesterday was their award ceremony.  And because its my blog and they are my children, I am allowed to brag on them for a few minutes.  They both received the National Physical Fitness awards.  They both received awards for exceeding standards in Reading for the entire year.  They both received medals for exceeding on all 5 areas of the CRCT.  Casey received an award for exceeding standards in Writing all year.  And Chandler?  Well that girl shocked us all and was chosen to receive the Principal's Award (selected by the teacher for best all around student) for her class.  I about fell out of my chair.  And the minute that child's feet hit the stage, she started dancing.  Every parent in the gym began laughing.  And they were laughing because she wasn't their kid.  :)

Christy Beth and Loralai (not Drew, he had a banquet tonight) came down for end of school celebratory hot dogs, bratwurst and sauerkraut.  Quinn thinks its fun to pretend to be Swiper.  Like in these pictures...where he is swiping Loralai's bowl of chips and drink.

Tomorrow, Chandler is running a 5K with Chris in the morning.  She is SUPER excited.  Beside herself excited.  We'll see how she feels about it afterward.  I may let her rest a little bit before she has to begin to tackle the mess of their bedrooms.  See exhibits below.
one - Chandler's side of their room. I love the big pile of some clean/some dirty jeans on the floor...right next to her hamper.  And no, there is not a body in her bed.  And no, I don't know how she sleeps there.
two - This is looking at their bedroom from the doorway.  No, I don't know what any of that stuff is on the floor.  Or how it got this messy when they cleaned it last weekend.
three - This is Casey's side of the room.  No comment.
four - This is Quinn's room. OMG.  I think we have everything EXCEPT a train on that table.

This summer, I believe there will be massive amounts of cleaning out and organizing going on.  Such a party.  :)

Forgetful, Much?

Sheesh.  This week has been mania in its purest form.  Seriously.  It is our (mine, Chris's and the girls') last week of school (with kids...next week is post planning) and I feel like we are all a little crazed and also a little swamped.

I have also done something *slightly* ridiculous at work.  In my defense, I would like to say that I did the same thing last year and it really was not a problem.  Really.  Here it is...we are having a book fair this last week of school.  Yep, book fair.  Last week of school.  Again, last year, not so bad.  This year, um, yeah, check please?

Big sigh.

Here are some examples of how this week is effecting my brain...

1.  Last night I went upstairs with Q at 8pm to read stories and tuck him in.  I fell asleep.  In his bed.  I woke up a little after 9pm and figured I might as well just put my jammies on, crawl in my own bed and call it a night.

2.  I woke up this morning, took the dog out, fed the dog, checked email, did some packaging, began getting ready...While in the shower I started rinsing my hair and thought to myself, "Did I wash my hair?"  I am sure that I answered myself, but for the life of me cannot remember the answer nor do I remember if there were any suds.  At this point (by looking at my hair) I am pretty sure that I did not wash it.

3.  While driving to work, contemplating the whole hair washing thing, I tried to retrace my steps of everything I did do this morning.  I for sure did NOT put on deodorant.  Awesome.

I hoping to stay awake a little later tonight.  And wash my hair in the morning.  And remember deodorant.

What I Wore Wednesday, Week 10

Another week with The Pleated Poppy!

An Interview With Quinn

Its our longest video yet.  Like 4 minutes.  So I'm telling you that as a way of warning.  :)

A Deal.

Hop on over to Very Jane Deals today...you won't regret it!

Or at least, I don't think you will.  Why would you?  That would be silly.

Speaking of silly...let me tell you this little story about the very silly Q.

He was sitting on the back of the chair that I was sitting in yesterday in the living room.  He slid forward so that he was then wedged between my back and the back of the chair.  And then he said to me...

Mama, Humpy Ducky can't gee up.

True story.  I kid you not.  And now I will forever call that boy, Humpy Ducky.  :)

Hoops and Soul Restoration

New hoop earrings...I am in love...just so you know.

{Blue Sky Hoops, Raw Copper and Gold Hoops, Cloud 9 Hoops}

I did actually go to church this morning (instead of the bead show).  And I am very glad that I did.  Our usual pastor - Pastor Lisa - was visiting another church this morning, so a former Pastor - Pastor Ted - was asked to take over for the day.  I greatly enjoyed his sermon this morning on the 23rd Psalm...
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake...
...specifically it was on God restoring souls.  The whole sermon was wonderful, but this one part spoke to me so loudly that I had to pull out a pen and scribble it on my bulletin.  I will make myself remember this on days when I feel lousy about myself...

"You are of infinite worth to God.  God is not going to throw you out." - Pastor Ted Staton

Perhaps you would like to use that one on your lousy days too.

My Saturday and a Sweet Card

Today was pretty fantastic.  It went like this...

7:30am - Ike needed to go out.
7:42am - came back in from taking Ike out, fed Ike, went to the bathroom
7:46am - checked email, read a couple of blogs, looked at the news and weather
8:00am - kids woke up
8:10am - kids eat, I started laundry
8:30am - I annoyingly woke Chris up.  He did not appreciate it.  But he did make a pot of coffee.  Yay!
Then I puttered around for a bit.  Does that happen to you?  I blame it on the children.  And the fact that I think I have A.D.D.  Just sayin.
9:10am - took shower, got ready for the day
10:00am - My friend Erin arrived so that we could go to the Bead Show!  Yay!  Super Yay!  Hip hip hooray yay!
10:05am - Q charmed his way into Erin's heart.
10:45am - arrived at bead show

It was FANtastic.  I had been budgeting and saving for this since the last one we went to together.  And now that I am home it is all I can do to talk myself into going to church tomorrow and not going back to the bead show.  All. I. Can. Do.  This is a portion of what I came home with today.  And I've already started wrapping some things.
I am really excited about these new beads.  Trust me, the picture doesn't EVEN begin to do them justice.  I have the stupid desire to stay up all night working, but I know how foolish that would be.  Tomorrow would be a bad, bad, very bad day for me if I did that.  But I want to.  Big sigh.

I've had this sitting on the table in my craft room and I've looked at it everyday this week.

I swear, this child needs a job writing for Hallmark.  It's a pretty great card, isn't it?  :)

92 Degrees.

No lie.  It was 92 degrees the other day.  So Chris bought a sprinkler toy (not to worry, it was our day for recreational water usage...and it was 92 degrees!) and the kids ran in the yard jumping over this (somewhat pitiful) spray of water.  Ike was on his lead (I remained uninjured this time).  I watered the flowers that I am pretty sure have died since I planted them.  And Chris....um.....well....Chris was the organizer/supervisor of this event.

Yes.  Our grass is still kind of dead.  Or at least dry.  Its on the brownish side.  And the plants in the picture with Ike?  Yes, those are DEFINITELY dead.  Because I didn't plant them.  And then forgot to continue watering them.  Because they weren't in the ground with the plants that I did plant.  Sheesh.

Blogger has been down.  In case you didn't know that, which is why I haven't posted.  And now you know.  Just sayin.

Also,  have you seen this website? Very Jane Deals?  If not, you should go.  And subscribe.  I promise you, it will become one of your favorite things.

And ps.  I am at 197 followers.  If you don't follow me already, can you just go click that little button?  Please.  Really.  Its killing me to be thisclose to 200.

Chandler's Guest Post

I'm Chandler Pendley. The one who loves mom the most. Most of my friends think I'm crazy, But I don't care. I'm doing a 5k next weekend. And I'm eager to do it.Right now, Quinn my little brother is pushing dad and telling him to wake up. When dad wakes up, Quinn looks likes he is asking him to play a game of tag. So they do. For at least 10 minutes chasing each other around the room. Dad sits down with Ike shoving a ball in his lap. Dad gets up to start cooking. A couple of minutes later, Quinn is on a stool asking dad if he can help.

He says no. As Quinn is asking dad to help, Ike is siting on the top of the couch like if he knows that danger is coming. Nothing happens, on the other hand dad sings a little bit of had a bad day. and Quinn repeats him. Ike finally hops off the couch. And decides to  play a game frizbe while I'm typing this. I play with him. Quinn is complaining that he will not let anybody take it off .Then dad says he'll give him a bowl of ice cream.
And Quinn accepts the offer.  Dad asks what flavor he wants. Quinn gives his order, vanille and strawberry. And he gets what he wants.About a minutes later dad tells me to take a shower. I quickly take a shower. So I can finsh this.Once I come down stairs. Ike is laying on top of the couch looking bord.I pet him.He gently lifts his head and licks me.As I turn around Quinn is on the stool, looking at the cooking brocley with his hands on his cheeks and smiling a horrifid grin.Dad asks Quinn to do his favorite thing ,
setting the table. It sounds odd but it's true.By the way have you ever herd of Casey? She is my sister.I didn't talking about her.Because she is at dance.Wait ,she is entering the room...now .Well this is all I have for now.Chandler out!By.

Dinner Conversation

Casey:  So pretty much everybody at school is getting hurt.
Chandler:  Yeah, that's true.
Casey:  And not just a scrape or whatever but like, a broken arm, a broken foot....
Me:  Like who?
Casey: Mallory broke her arm.  At least I think she did.  I don't think she'll be at dance class tomorrow night.
Me:  Oh.
Chandler:  And Mrs. Hanley!  She has a broken foot.
Me:  Oh, what happened?
Chandler:  I don't know.  I saw her walking outside the gym.  Her foot was in a cast and she had crunches.

Lunch. Sunburn. Video.

Its what's for lunch...avacado, tomato and my favorite junk reading material...the People magazine.  Bonus!  Its all about the Royal Wedding.  Yay!

One would think that I would have learned a thing or two from last year's field day.  But, well, clearly I didn't.   I wore a different pair of Birkenstocks this year...which explains the different burn lines.

Last night we went out to dinner with Chris's family.  I was not a good dinner companion.  I was tired.  And burned.  Had spent 45 minutes in the yard with Ike trying to get him to poop outside rather than inside and that was 45 minutes that I had really wanted to nap through.  So, (big surprise!) I was kind of in a foul mood.  Sheesh.  I hate it when that happens.  Something tells me that Chris might hate the foul mood more.

After dinner, the kids were dancing and being silly in the living room.  The girls were teaching Quinn a silly cheer and he was, well, allllllll about it.

Deadhead.

The weather is really quite perfect today.

So after my very long day at school I drove home with the windows down, blasting the Grateful Dead.

It was just a Deadhead kind of day.

My top 3 Dead songs....

1.  Sugar Magnolia
2.  Friend of the Devil
3.  Uncle John's Band

just in case you were wondering.

Thursday, May 5, 2011

So tired.

Oh, friends, everyday this week has felt like it should be Thursday.

And its really not good when Monday feels like Thursday.

And now it is Thursday.

I am oh so tired.

Tomorrow is field day at school.

I repeat, tomorrow is field day at school.  Anyone who knows anything about an elementary school field day knows that I will need to sleep twelve hours tomorrow night to recover.

Its true.

Chandler told me this over the weekend...

Chan:  Thank you, Mama.
Me:  For what?
Chan:  Everything.
Me:  Everything, like what?
Chan:  You know, giving me birth, not spanking me everyday, buying this dog and you know, everything else.

And that was really nice of her.  It is also the only thing that is saving her hide this week....especially after the pile up of towels on the bathroom floor, the pile up of jeans on her bedroom floor and the two other bathroom insanities that this child thought where good ideas this week.  Sheesh.

And now...I am going to bed.  I have too.  My pillow is calling.

Art and Asparagus

This is my boy.  Eating his chicken, asparagus and macaroni and cheese while creating an alphabet masterpiece.  Sometimes we pretend to be the Macaroni Grille, with our roll of paper on the table under the dishes and a box of crayons.

I'm not really sure if you can make out his art work or not, but it is basically a field of letters.  About 800 Q's.  He greatly enjoys practicing his Q's.  He takes it very seriously.

I am injured.

First of all, I think its only fair for you to know that I am a big baby.  Especially when it comes to injuries of my own.  I really can't handle it.  Chris has seen me cry over a stubbed toe more times than I would like to count (I also have sensitive feet).

When I have a bruise, I point it out daily until its gone.

Its just the way I am.

And now I have a new injury.  It happened on Saturday, during our family planting day.

We took Ike outside with us and attached his (brand new!) harness to a (brand new!) stake in the ground.  He felt as free as free could possibly feel for him.  And then he took of running.  He came to the end of the line, flipped over backwards, stood up and stared at us.

We all laughed (it was at least a little funny) and then he shook himself off and came barreling toward us.  Before I could move, he clotheslined my ankle with the lead from the stake.  You know, the metal wire line coated in the thick plastic?  Yeah, that one.  Ripped across my ankle.

And now I am injured.

This is my ankle.  Still slightly swollen, starting to turn green (when it does, I'll post pictures of that too :) ), rope burned ankle.  It hurts like the dickens...as my mother would say.  I would say something else, but I do try to keep it clean on the blog.

And I am a big baby about the whole thing.  I think I have told Chris 800 times how badly it hurts.  And the first shower I had to take...ugh.  My stomach flipped and dropped the whole time.

I think it will be looking *awesome* by the end of the week.  And I feel that I should wait for it to heal before getting a new pedicure.  And I am in desperate need of one.  Big sigh.  I hate being injured.

And its Sunday.

And its Sunday.  And tomorrow is Monday.  Which means back to work...back to testing...back to the daily grind.  We have squeezed so much into this weekend (and I was still able to spend 90% of today in my pajamas with a cup of coffee in hand) that it hasn't felt much like a weekend.  Or maybe its really just that it felt like such a good productive weekend that I want more of it.  Maybe this was like a "gateway weekend" to what I hope my summer is...kind of like a gateway drug.

The culminating activity of the weekend?  We played softball outside, in our backyard, with the children and the dog.  And there was a slight breeze, it was the perfect temperature and we all enjoyed ourselves.  Although I did start aiming my pitches for Chandler's face when she told me I "played pretty good for someone my age."  I'll show you what someone "my age" can do, missy.  Oh, you just wait...I'll show you!

Quinn is still hunting his Easter eggs.  No lie.  Here he is, having a hunt in my bathroom...with Bikey in tow.

I also posted some new things in the shop today...  And there will be a few more new things throughout the week.  Yay!
