A Trip to Starbucks

I'm sure that I've written before about how the girls love to go to Starbucks.  My aunt and uncle started taking them for Vanilla Beans when they were, oh, I don't know, old enough to drink out of a straw????  So their love for that place runs true and deep.

Last Friday we had Fall Festival at our school and rather than drive home (28 miles) to drive back (28 miles) to drive home again (28 miles) we just stayed in town.  We went to a couple of cutesy antique places and ate dinner at Starbucks.  Is that a failure as a parent?  Maybe so.  Did I score mega points with my children?  Why, yes, yes I did.

And not to make this trip any different from the others, as we walked in, Casey said, "Ahhhhh, I love this place.  This is where girls become ladies."  *big sigh, deep breath*

Where they got this from, I have no idea.  But they say it every time we go there.

And then we stepped up to the counter and the guy said, "What can I get for you Ladies?"

The three of us died.  We burst out laughing and I'm sure the guy thought we were super strange.  So I explained to him (while the girls hid behind my back, dying of embarrassment) why we were laughing and what the girls say about Starbucks.  He found this to be amusing too.

And when we picked up their vanilla beans...he had written this on their cups....

...and then they died some more.

Please note that children did actually eat a real meal in addition to their vanilla beans...they had chicken salad sandwiches, a fruit cup and a brownie.  Just in case you were wondering.

I'm leaving Chicago today, and now I'm going to have to stop at Starbucks on my way out of town. I think I'm ready to become a lady.

... see you guys soon!
